Important Notice  18^th March 2020

As per direction of Judge Martina Baxter

The following revised measures for management of the court business listed for the call-over of trials due to take place at Wicklow Circuit Criminal Court siting at Bray on Wednesday  the 18^th March 2020 at 10.30am will now apply so as to comply with the national direction concerning management of public gatherings:

1. At 10.30 am: Wicklow Circuit Criminal Court siting at Bray on Wednesday  the 18^th March 2020  

       Custody cases will be dealt with.

1. At 11.30 am:  Wicklow Circuit Criminal Court siting at Bray on Wednesday  the 18^th March 2020 All cases where an accused is on bail will be dealt with as follows:

In line with HSE guidelines and with everyone’s safety in mind please review your place on the list and strictly adhere to the allotted time.

A revised court list, setting the detail of the changed listing arrangements is posted on the Legal Diary  section on the Courts Service website, www.courts.ie. Please check this.

Detailed Notice on management of the Callover of Criminal Court sessions listed at

Wicklow Circuit Court commencing 18^th March 2020

Important

• Only persons with cases listed for these times should be in the courtroom. All other persons should wait out in the main lobbies or outside the building until the designated time
• Cases that are not urgent will be adjourned to future dates in July, on application to the Court. Court users who have legal representation are asked to instruct their solicitors to seek an adjournment. They do not need to attend court and their solicitor will advise them of their next date in court date
• Court users who do not have legal representation should come to court and can then ask to have their case adjourned
• Courtrooms and lobbies will be strictly monitored to ensure that crowd limits as set down by the national direction are not exceeded and social distancing can be observed
• Strict personal hygiene protocols should be observed and regular daily cleaning and sanitisation of public areas and “hand-fall” surfaces is in place. You are required to wash your hands in the bathroom facilities provided upon entry to the Courthouse and hand sanitisers are also available.

            Notice Regarding County Registrars Lists Bray Courthouse

Please note the following changes regarding upcoming County Registrar Lists:

The County Registrars Family Law list for the 20^th of April 2020 will now be listed on the 18^th of May 2020.

The Civil and Family Callover listed for the 30^th day of March 2020 is cancelled.

Further direction relating to cases on this list will issue to the relevant parties in due course.

The District Court sitting at Bray and Arklow

The President of the District Court has decided that the following measures concerning the business of the Court will be implemented for the foreseeable future:　

1. Parties with non-urgent cases are no longer required to attend court. 
2. The District Court will continue to hear urgent matters only in all District Court Districts throughout the country.　
Urgent matters are:

Criminal Law 　

Cases where the accused is in custody and cases where people are charged with new offences. It does not include criminal cases where the accused is on bail or is not in custody.　

Remands where the accused is in custody should be dealt with by video-link wherever possible. 　

Family Law 　

New applications for protection orders or interim barring orders and return hearings of interim barring order cases. If safety order hearings are being adjourned interim protective orders will be extended to the new date. 　

Child Care Law 　

Extension of interim care orders and emergency care orders and exceptional or urgent interim care orders.　

 If your case does is not included in the description of urgent matters above, then it is a non-urgent matter and parties do not need to attend court. 　

Solicitors are to inform clients that they do not need to attend where their case is a non-urgent matter.　

Non-urgent cases will be adjourned, and parties will be told of their new court dates by ordinary post or by their solicitor or barrister where one is present.　

Civil Matters　

All District Court Civil matters are considered to be non-urgent and will be adjourned to a new date. Parties will be told of their new court dates by ordinary post or by their solicitor or barrister where one is present.
These measures will be reviewed at the end of the legal term on the 12^th April 2020 or earlier if needed.
