What do I need to do if my application for an extension of time is granted?

You will need to lodge your notice of appeal stamped with court stamp duty – currently €250.00.

What court stamp duty do I need to pay?

You need to have court stamp duty – currently €60.00 – stamped on the notice of motion and €20.00 on the grounding affidavit.

What do I need to lodge with a motion for extension of time?

You should first seek the consent of the other side to the late filing of your notice of appeal. If they do not consent you will need the following:

notice of motion
grounding affidavit
copy of your intended notice of appeal (without court stamp duty)
original attested copy of the High Court order to be appealed.

You will have to lodge a motion booklet in advance of the date given for the hearing of the motion.
